New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. plans to hold out from football activities in 2018 until he receives a contract extension, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.

Beckham is entering his fifth season in the NFL and is scheduled to play the 2018 season on the fifth-year option of his rookie deal. He will make $8,459,000 this year, according to Spotrac.
But Beckham has said he wants to be the highest-paid player in the league.
The star receiver has gotten into a string of troubling incidents the past few years, the most recent being a video of Beckham and a woman in a European hotel room with what appears to be a white, powder-like substance.
Giants owner John Mara said over the weekend at NFL owners’ meetings in Orlando that nobody on the team’s roster is “untouchable” when it comes to trade talks.
But according to Rapoport’s report, Beckham would expect a contract extension from his new team if he were traded, too.
Beckham missed most of 2017 with a broken ankle.
