Michael Cohen’s attorney sent a cease-and-desist letter on Monday to the porn star known as Stormy Daniels after her interview with “60 Minutes,” Fox News reported.
The adult film actress, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, said in the interview that she was threatened to keep silent about her alleged affair with Mr. Trump even before the 2016 election.
Mr. Cohen’s lawyer said Ms. Clifford implied the threat was made by his client and demanded she refrain from speaking further about him. Mr. Cohen serves as Mr. Trump’s personal attorney and admitted to paying Ms. Clifford with his own money for her silence during the campaign.
Ms. Clifford said she had one sexual encounter with the president in 2006, prior to his political career but while he was married to first lady Melania Trump. She received a payment of $130,000 during the 2016 campaign for her silence and signed a nondisclosure agreement.
