OPINION:
Some women of highly questionable virtue are seeking to smear President Trump by disclosing lurid and prurient details of affairs they allege they had with him several years ago when he was a private citizen. There is no doubt that their puppeteers are the ones who seek to drive Mr. Trump from office and sought to illegally deny him election victory.
Smarting from failed attempts through the futile and fruitless Mueller investigation and the exposure of the corrupt collusion at the Justice Department, the FBI and other powerful government agencies, the string pullers have sunk to an even deeper depth of depravity. They now seek to destroy the president’s marriage and hold him up to public ridicule.
Mr. Trump, warts and all, has proven himself to be a strong person and a patriot committed to putting this country first and restoring it to its former status here and abroad. Americans have long been disabused of the notion that greatness in one area provides insulation from faults in all others. Yet politicians and public servants are still expected to behave with moral rectitude while in office. The revelation that over $17.2 million has been paid out over decades to settle and silence sexual harassment complaints against several members of Congress show the required standard has not been observed there.
The alleged affairs of Donald Trump, if true, occurred years ahead of his taking office. Thus it is basis for self-reflection, self-reproach and concurrent marital introspection and discussion. But it is a personal and private matter that must be respected and accepted as such.
