GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say they removed a 32-inch (81-centimeter) long alligator and other animals from a northeast Wyoming residence where a woman is being evicted from.
Campbell County Animal Control Supervisor Jeanette Graves tells the Gillette News Record that a 40-year-old woman called Tuesday to ask for assistance with removing the animals from her home.
Graves says she found the alligator living in a 50-gallon steel horse tank alongside two tortoises.
She says the alligator weighs about 2 to 3 pounds (0.9 to 1.3 kilograms).
The woman also had a salamander, mice and a couple of cats.
Graves says the alligator is staying at the animal shelter while she is looking to send to Utah’s Reptile Rescue Service in Salt Lake City.
