PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Police in Providence say a fight over a parking space led to a stabbing that left a man with wounds to the face and chest.

The Providence Journal reports that the 24-year-old man, identified as Joshua Zapata, was injured Monday night. On Tuesday, he was reported to be in stable condition at a local hospital.

Witnesses told police that the man with the knife fled.

Police have not released any suspect information.
