Very soon Congress will again begin posturing why they cannot avoid a government shutdown and/or resolve the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) matter. The top four congressional leaders (Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, Paul Ryan and Chuck Schumer) will likely begin trash-talking each other, and some will bash our president for not solving the problem.

Many Americans will get caught up in the bashing, ignoring the obvious: It is Congress’ job to debate, deliberate and create legislation to be placed on the president’s desk for signature. If these top four leaders, with their 116 combined years of elected-office-position experience, cannot create a law they believe will strongly hold up against a presidential veto, they will have again shown themselves to be ineffective and incompetent.

These four have chosen to fight among themselves while totally forgetting the people they were elected to represent. Worse, many voters will also choose sides supporting the ineptness of Congress. God help us.
