DETROIT (AP) - The city of Detroit is seeking to hire 100 people for seasonal jobs that include vehicle operators and park maintenance workers.
A hiring fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Edison Public Library. Attendees must register to attend the job fair and complete an online application .
Work begins in April and could extend into September.
Pay starts at $14.35 per hour for vehicle operators. A high school diploma or GED diploma is required. Pay for the park maintenance positions start at $10.14 per hour.
General Services Department Director Brad Dick says a GED diploma requirement is being waived for park maintenance positions to make the jobs available “to those who want to work, but may have difficulty finding someone to hire them.”
