Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue will step away from his job to address his health, the team announced Monday.
Lue missed a game in December due to illness and has left games early in February and March because he felt ill.
TNT basketball reporter David Aldridge reported that the “current plan” is for Lue to miss one week.

Key statement from Ty Lue: “I have had chest pains and other troubling symptoms, compounded by a loss of sleep, throughout the year.” Team source told ESPN, for instance, that when CLE returned from its road trip, Lue did not fall asleep until 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Larry Drew, who played for four NBA teams in the 1980s and early 1990s, will assume head coaching duties in Lue’s absence.
The 40-29 Cavaliers are third place in the Eastern Conference, just a half-game ahead of the Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers (40-30). In fact, the conference is so tightly packed outside the top two that Cleveland and eighth-place Miami are only separated by 3.5 games.
