KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - An official with Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry says a suicide car bomber targeting a British security company in the capital Kabul has killed two civilians and wounded three others.
Deputy spokesman Nasrat Rahimi confirmed the Saturday attack, which was claimed by the Taliban.
An Afghan police officer said the attacker killed three civilians and wounded five more in the eastern part of the capital Kabul. Jan Agha said the attacker targeted a “foreign convoy” on Saturday but was not successful. He says the attack took place as the convoy passed by the car bomber.
Additional details were not immediately available.
Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility for the attack in a text message, saying the target was foreign automobile and the attack was successful.
