The actor who starred in “Passion of the Christ,” “Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius” and “Person of Interest” can add another, smaller role to his IMDb page.

Jim Caviezel stood in for Kansas City Royals bench coach Dale Sveum when players and coaches posed for their 2018 team photo Wednesday.

Sveum had to miss the photo shoot for a doctor’s appointment, and Royals manager Ned Yost said the club plans to photoshop his face onto Caviezel’s spot in the picture later.

Caviezel, who portrayed Jesus Christ in “Passion of the Christ,” was visiting Royals spring training at the invitation of his friend and former Royals player Mike Sweeney. Apparently, everyone called him Jesus throughout the day, from the photo shoot to the Cactus League game against the Chicago Cubs later in the day.

At one point Yost said, “Look, Jesus is over there taking selfies,” and after escaping a bases-loaded jam allowing just one run, Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy said, “Jesus was in our dugout, watching over us a little bit.”
