Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will join a range of headliners at this year’s “Women in the World Summit” in New York.
MSNBC’s Joy-Ann Reid, Viola Davis, journalist Ronan Farrow and others will join Mrs. Clinton for a #MeToo-inspired “Women in the World Summit” at Lincoln Center from April 12-14.
“Women’s courage in speaking out is transforming lives for millions by personal example, leadership, and inspiration as never before,” Tina Brown Live Media said in a statement released Thursday. “That has always been the mission of Women in the World, and this year’s summit — the ninth year — will bring together all the passion and purpose of these last twelve months.”
Some of this year’s high-profile attendees include:
- Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York).
- Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
- Nicholas Kristof, columnist, The New York Times.
- Mindy Grossman, president and CEO, Weight Watchers International Inc.
- Zainab Salbi, host and executive editor of “#MeToo, Now What,” founder of Women for Women International and author of ADIN Productions.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that Parkland gun control activist Delaney Tarr will also be on hand to address gun control issues.
Mrs. Clinton will lead a debate on “the rise of Strong Men” with journalists from Russia, Turkey, the Philippines and China, THR added.
