PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police say a Portland man was severely injured earlier this month when a driver deliberately ran into him in a parking lot.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reported Tuesday that Mohammad Fawad Mohammadi was in a vehicle with his wife and young child in a Lincoln City Walgreens parking when eyewitnesses say a man in a car rammed into the driver’s side of Mohammadi’s car.

Court records say that when Mohammadi stepped out of his vehicle, the suspect reversed and ran into Mohammadi’s car again - pinning him.

The records say the man then backed up and hit him a third time.

Mohammadi was flown to a trauma center, where he underwent two surgeries and was preparing for a third on Tuesday. His wife and child were not injured.

Police brought a suspect into custody.
