Chuck Todd was not happy that President Trump called him a “sleepy-eyed son of a bitch” during a political rally in Pennsylvania Saturday night.

During “Meet the Press” on NBC News Sunday morning Todd reflected on the language by explaining how he raises his children to have respect for the office of the president.

“I bring my kids up to respect the office of the presidency and the president,” Todd said during a brief appearance on NBC’s Washington affiliate. “I don’t allow them to say anything negative, ever, about the president.” He added, “It creates a challenge to all parents when he uses vulgarities like that.”

Less than 24 hours after Todddelivered his homily on the virtues of civility and decorum in public discourse, his colleagues at MSNBC compared President Trump to a fascist dictator:

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough was horrified by President Donald Trump‘s rally in Pennsylvania Saturday, saying it reminded him of a certain Italian dictator.

“The booing is getting stronger by the day whenever he goes out there and whips up like it’s a Mussolini rally,” he said.

“Yes, that’s what I said,” he added for emphasis.

Of course, it is n’t the first time MSNBC has described Trump and his behaviors within the context of World War II era dictators. The times the network has led the way comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler are innumerable.
