The Washington Redskins are reportedly seeking a third-round pick for any team interested in safety Su’a Cravens.

Pro Football Talk reported teams haven’t met the asking price, which is why the 22-year-old safety hasn’t been traded yet. Cravens’ future in Washington needs to be sorted out before next season, and it is believed the team is trying to move on.

At the scouting combine, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said “we’re not trying to trade him, from what I know.” But Cravens has been linked with the Denver Broncos and Gruden didn’t mention Cravens when discussing the team’s safety depth, either.

Cravens could appeal to a number of teams, given his talent and the fact he has three years left on his rookie contract. Still, there are questions surrounding his commitment to football.

Cravens, of course, left the Redskins prior to the start for the regular season, mulling retirement. When he was reportedly ready to rejoin the team in September, the Redskins placed him on the season-ending reserve/left squad list.

Gruden said he thinks players will accept Cravens back in the locker room, if he rejoins the Redskins.

He made a decision that he thought was right for him and his family, and at the end of the day, nobody really can put themselves in his shoes,” Gruden said. “He had to do that for himself and make that decision himself. People make decisions and we’re not the judge and jury. It’s up to him to come back and I think guys will accept him back.”

In December, Cravens’ agent announced the safety was medically cleared to play football after dealing with post-concussion syndrome. Two months later, Cravens was reinstated by the league.
