PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A woman accused in a robbery attempt at a Cottonwood fast-food restaurant that was captured on surveillance video could be facing a long prison term if convicted.
The Daily Courier reports Tia Stevens could get up to a 52-year prison term if she goes to trial and is found guilty on all counts.
The newspaper says a plea deal is on table that would offer a maximum of 24 1/2 years in prison with a stipulation Stevens serve at least five years.
Authorities say Stevens was out on release after a probation violation in a 2015 aggravated assault case at the time of the attempted robbery in January.
The 36-year-old Stevens is facing six charges including aggravated assault, unlawful flight from a pursuing law enforcement vehicle and tampering with evidence.
