CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Prison officials in Nevada are investigating the death of a 26-year-old man at a halfway house in Las Vegas as a suicide.

The Nevada Department of Corrections reported Monday that Clifford Bernard Ealy was found Sunday with a bedsheet around his neck in a solo holding cell at the Casa Grande Transitional Housing Facility.

He was pronounced dead at at the scene, and an autopsy was scheduled.

Records show that Ealy was sentenced in December 2015 in Las Vegas to 28 months to six years in prison for burglary, grand larceny and failure to stop for a police officer convictions.

Casa Grande houses about 300 inmates in a dormitory setting to let find jobs and begin to pay court-ordered restitution during the last 18 months of their prison sentence.
