HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police say they’ve determined that a black 13-year-old boy’s report that he was abducted, taken to a vacant house and attacked did not happen.

The boy told police on May 14 that he’d been abducted by five white teenagers after he stepped from a school bus and put in a pickup truck driven by a man with a tattoo that said, “I hate black people.” A motorist found the boy, his clothes in disarray, walking on a road near his home.

According to messages posted Monday on the Houston Police Department Twitter account, the owners of the house and truck have been questioned and cleared of involvement. Investigators concluded the report was false.

No charges were filed. Police spokesman Kese Smith said the department would have no further comment.
