CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a transit employee.

Massachusetts Bay Transit Association police officials say 29-year-old Charles Mills of Somerville allegedly assaulted an MBTA employee shortly after 5 a.m. Monday. Several bystanders and transit employees tried to restrain Mills, who was successfully taken into custody by police.

Mills was yelling profanities about trains when he allegedly attacked an employee walking by, threw her onto the platform and stood over her punching.

The woman has been taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries. An attorney for Mills, who has been booked at Transit Headquarters, could not be immediately identified.
