BERLIN, Md. (AP) - Officials in Maryland say two people who were seriously injured in a plane crash are married.
Maryland State Police said in a statement that Guerrino Mascelli and Mary Mascelli had just taken off from Ocean City’s airport Friday morning before crashing on a nearby golf course in Berlin.
Police said the couple was able to get out of the small plane, which was on fire. Gurerrino was the pilot.
Rescue crews from the Ocean City Fire Department had rushed to the scene. Police said Guerrino Mascelli was flown to Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Mary Mascelli was taken there by ambulance. Both are 60 years old and live in Berlin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Maryland State Police and the Federal Aviation Administration
