NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Tulane University’s Cowen Institute is launching a new campaign to increase the number of New Orleans public school students who complete federal financial aid applications.
A Tulane news release says the institute will work with public schools, universities, nonprofit groups, education leaders and policy makers on the project. The aim is to develop citywide incentives and methods to track students’ completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
The effort will be funded with money from the nonprofit Kresge (KRESS’-gee) Foundation.
The Cowen Institute does research, analyzes policy and develops programs aimed at advancing public education in New Orleans.
