RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police are investigating the death of an 8-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a UPS truck.

Police say the young girl appeared to be riding her bicycle on the sidewalk in a suburban neighborhood on the south end of town Tuesday afternoon when she entered the street and was hit by a UPS Freight tractor trailer.

Police say the driver is cooperating fully with investigators and no charges have been filed.

They say neither speed nor impairment appears to have been a factor in the accident in the Double Diamond area at about 3:45 p.m.

A UPS spokesman says the truck was making scheduled delivers in the area.

The girl’s name has not been released.

Anyone with information should contact Reno police at 775-334-2115 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900.
