Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski warned on Thursday that President Trump’s position in the White House is in the balance during the midterm elections.

Mr. Lewandowski explained that elections for House seats are just as important as Senate races. If Republicans lose control of the House, Nancy Pelosi could be the next Speaker of the House.

“If you do that, what will happen - I believe - is that they will begin immediately with impeachment proceedings for this president and they will completely stymie all the good work that he’s done this first year and a half,” he said during an interview with The Hill TV’s “Rising.”

However, he was optimistic about Republican chances during the November elections. Mr. Lewandowski said the GOP should keep races focused on President Trump’s goals, but warned if races hinge on local issues, where candidates could break with Ms. Pelosi, the Democrats could succeed.

“If it’s Donald Trump versus Nancy Pelosi, the president wins that every single time,” he said.
