WOODS HOLE, Mass. (AP) - Passengers have been removed from a Massachusetts ferry due to an emergency generator malfunction.

The Cape Cod Times reports the generator on the ferry did not automatically activate on Wednesday morning during a routine test before the ferry’s 10:45 a.m. trip from Woods Hole to Martha’s Vineyard.

The Steamship Authority says passengers were removed from the “Island Home” and boarded onto another ferry. Trips on the “Island Home” were canceled for over an hour as repairs were taken care of.

This is one of the many problems the Steamship Authority has faced, including a Coast Guard review of the Iyanough ferry crash in June 2017.
