ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Police say a break-in by three people at a house in Florida left one suspect dead and two residents of the home wounded.
St. Petersburg police spokeswoman Yolanda Fernandez tells The Tampa Bay Times that it happened about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. She says three people forced their way into a house in Childs Park where three adult brothers live.
Someone opened fire and 35-year-old Cory D. McClendon died. Two of the brothers, 25-year-old Ackeem Marks and 20-year-old Shaevaughn Marks, also were struck with bullets and were in stable condition. Police say Ackeem was critically injured, while Shaevaughn’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
Two other suspects remain at large. Fernandez says police do not believe the shooting was random, or that there is an ongoing threat to public safety.
