BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Thousands of recreational softball players from the U.S. and Canada are in Bismarck for this weekend’s McQuade charity tournament.
The annual event is in its 43rd year. McQuade Distributing Co. bills the event as the largest nonprofit, single-weekend slowpitch softball tournament in the country. More than 450 teams are registered again this year.
The tournament is Friday through Sunday, with games being played at six softball complexes in Bismarck and neighboring Mandan.
The Bismarck Police Department has issued a statement urging motorists to use caution because of the increased traffic.
