MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The Latest on Wisconsin race for governor (all times local):

A Wisconsin Republican Party spokesman says it’s not a surprise that Gov. Scott Walker’s former Corrections Department secretary is endorsing Democrat Tony Evers.
Former Corrections Department Secretary Ed Wall resigned in 2016 in the wake of a federal investigation into the state’s juvenile prison. He was fired two months later for advocating shredding public records.
GOP party spokesman Alec Zimmerman said Thursday that “it’s not surprising that he’s running to the defense of a bureaucrat who chooses politics over helping those he’s charged with serving.”
Zimmerman is referencing state superintendent Evers not revoking the license of a teacher who shared e-mails on his work computer showing crude jokes and nudity.
Wall says he’s endorsing Evers because he claims Walker mismanaged problems at Wisconsin’s juvenile prison.

Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s disgruntled former state prisons chief is breaking with his former boss and endorsing Democrat Tony Evers in the race for governor.
Ed Wall says in a campaign video released Thursday by the Evers campaign to The Associated Press that Walker was negligent in his response to allegations of abuse at Wisconsin’s juvenile prison.
Wall resigned as corrections secretary in 2016 as an array of problems at the Lincoln Hills juvenile prison came to light. He worked two months for the state Justice Department after that but was fired for advocating shredding public records.
Wall’s tell-all book about his time in the Walker administration is due out in August.
Evers is one of 10 Democrats running for a chance to take on Walker.
