Facebook, in just the span of a few days, raked in more than $6 million in donations to help reunite families who were detained then separated at the border because they tried to enter the country illegally.

That’s the power of a crying child — a price tag of $6 million.

Democrats and now, even some Republicans, have been raising ruckus in recent days — in post-North Korea diplomacy days, in post-economic boom days, in post-Russia-collusion-charges-fall-flat days — about the heart-pulling photographs of young children, teary-eyed and grieving, openly distraught because their parents have been taken from their sides. Why have the parents been removed from their sides?

Because their parents, kids in tow, have entered the country illegally. And that’s parents in quotation marks; really, border officials have to make sure these children aren’t being exploited for border entry use by drug and human sex traffickers.

Truly, good parents don’t put their children in spots where they could be taken from their sides. Good parents don’t take their children on missions to break the law.

All that aside — the issue has turned into quite the fundraiser for the left.

A couple in Silicon Valley, Charlotte and Dave Willner, created a “Reunite an immigrant parent with their child” fundraiser on Facebook on Saturday, with a goal of raising $1,500 for the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services outlet in Texas.

And it’s ultimate aim?

To remove President Donald Trump from the White House, and pro-Trump candidates from their congressional and Senate seats.

“Until the election, I think there’s little chance of a political solution to this grave American moral failing,” Charlotte Wilner wrote on Facebook.

The Democrats, it appears, have found their election calling.
