The Washington Capitals will play their 2018-19 regular season opener at home the Boston Bruins on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
Following the tradition of past champions, that will be the night the Capitals raise their first-ever Stanley Cup banner at Capital One Arena.

It was also revealed Wednesday afternoon that the Capitals will then have a quick turnaround and play at the Pittsburgh Penguins the next night, Oct. 4, in Pittsburgh’s home opener.
The next week, Washington will play at the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, Oct. 11. The full 2018-19 schedule will be revealed Thursday at 5 p.m. Eastern.
