Las Vegas put on a show for the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final, but Washington, D.C., assembled its best response when the series shifted to the District.
Super Bowl-winning Washington Redskins coach Joe Gibbs was the “Fan of the Game” leading the “Let’s Go Caps” chant, one of many big names to pop up at the Washington Capitals’ Game 3 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night.
Pat Sajak, the longtime host of “Wheel of Fortune” and reportedly a Capitals season ticket-holder, announced the teams’ starting lineups before the opening faceoff, a move that mirrored boxing ring announcer Michael Buffer’s appearance in Game 1 in Las Vegas.
And Sting, singer and former frontman of The Police, played a free concert with Jamaican rapper Shaggy on the steps of the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. The two released a reggae album together and are currently touring.

Bryce Harper has said he will attend Game 4 — but to support the Golden Knights, as a native of Las Vegas and one of the team’s first “superfans.”
