CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming’s unemployment rate fell from 3.8 percent in April to 3.7 percent in May.
The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reports that from April to May most county unemployment rates decreased.
The agency says jobless rates usually fall in May as warmer spring weather brings job gains in construction, leisure and hospitality as well as government.
The largest unemployment rate decreases among counties were seen in Teton, Johnson, Park, Lincoln and Hot Springs.
Niobrara County recorded the state’s lowest jobless rate in May at 2.5 percent, followed by Albany County’s 3.0 percent. Crook and Platte counties both registered 3.2 percent.
The state’s highest rate was 4.7 percent in Fremont County, followed by 4.5 percent in Big Horn, 4.4 percent in Natrona, 4.2 percent in Washakie and 4.1 percent in Uinta.
