CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - The president of Lesley University in Massachusetts is stepping down.

The Boston Globe reports Jeff Weiss will resign from the Cambridge-based university Aug. 31 due to personal health reasons. The university did not disclose what the reasons were.

Lesley’s interim provost, Richard Hansen, will serve as the interim president.

Weiss became the university’s sixth president in July 2016.

The private school says the university’s board of trustees is planning to find a replacement by July 2019.

Lesley serves about 2,500 undergraduate and 5,000 graduate students.
