BURBANK, Calif. (AP) - Police say a homeless man who randomly stabbed a customer at a Burger King restaurant in Burbank has died after another patron tried to stop him.

City News Service says a man in his 70s was sitting in the restaurant with friends on Tuesday morning when the attacker entered the restaurant. Witnesses say 36-year-old James Kagaoan began yelling and a screaming and then stabbed the customer, who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police say another patron intervened and in the struggle Kagaoan was himself stabbed. He died at a hospital.

Police say the attack appears to have been random and unprovoked.
