PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on the closure near Hoover Dam of the main highway linking Phoenix and Las Vegas (all times local):
3:20 p.m.
Authorities say a man who stopped traffic on the main highway between Las Vegas and Phoenix by parking a tactical-style vehicle on a bridge near the Hoover Dam has been taken into custody and traffic is moving.
The Nevada Highway Patrol said on Twitter that the man surrendered to authorities on the Arizona side of the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge after a 90 minute barricade. The bridge is part of U.S. 93.
Trooper Jason Buratczuk (bur-AH’-chek) described the vehicle as a modified large pickup and said police were told the man had a weapon.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the man was armed when he surrendered, and he wasn’t immediately identified.
There were no reports of injuries.
Buratczuk had said the man posted a sign in the vehicle and was believed to be alone on the high span bridge over the Colorado River.

Authorities say a man believed to have a weapon and possibly a sign is refusing to get out of a large pickup truck near the Arizona-Nevada state line, forcing the closure of the main highway linking Phoenix and Las Vegas.
Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Buratczuk (bur-AH’-chek) says U.S. 93 is closed to traffic in both directions while police try to coax the man out of the truck near Hoover Dam.
No one has been injured, and officials think the man is alone in the vehicle about a mile from the high span bridge over the Colorado River.
The incident began about noon.
Buratczuk says motorists heading toward Las Vegas are being advised near Kingman, Arizona, to use U.S. 95 through Laughlin, Nevada.
Drivers heading to Phoenix are getting similar warnings near Boulder City.

The main highway linking Phoenix and Las Vegas is closed off to traffic heading into Nevada.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says US 93 near the state line was closed Friday afternoon because of “police activity.”
Officials did not give further details.
The agency says drivers cannot cross into Nevada near Hoover Dam.
Officials are urging motorists to either delay their travel or use alternate routes such as Interstate 40 or State Route 68.
No time was given for when the highway may reopen.
