KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (AP) - A popular Maine magazine publishing company whose former owner was accused of sexual harassment has been sold.

The Portland Press Herald reports Maine Media Collective publisher and CEO Andrea King said in an email the company had been sold to State 23 Media. The publishing company includes Maine magazine, Maine Home+Design and Old Port magazine. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Kevin Thomas left Maine Media Collective earlier this year.

A former designer for the company says Thomas kissed her without permission in 2010, then bullied her for months.

Thomas acknowledged the kissing and said it was wrong, but he disputed the designer’s description of events.

King says the company’s new owners are committed to creating a work environment that doesn’t condone sexual harassment.
