The U.S. pays for 90 percent of NATO, President Trump said Monday ahead of the international summit later this week.

He noted that member states have been improving, but insisted they “must do much more.”

Mr. Trump is scheduled to meet with other NATO heads of state this week for the 2018 summit in Brussels. The leaders will convene on Wednesday and Thursday.

The president strained relations with other European leaders with tariffs slapped on the EU in June.
