BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s early Canada goose hunting season is set, with bag limits and licensing requirements the same as last year.
The Game and Fish Department says one big change from 2017 is the restructuring of Canada goose hunting zones to address depredation issues and provide additional hunting opportunities.
The Missouri River Canada goose zone has the same boundary as last year, while the western zone has the same boundary as the high plains duck unit, excluding the Missouri River zone. The eastern zone has the same boundary as the low plains duck unit.
Opening day for early Canada goose is Aug. 15 in all three zones. Closing dates are Sept. 7 in the Missouri River zone, Sept. 15 in the western zone and Sept. 21 in the eastern zone.
