Disgraced former Sen. Al Franken said Monday that hadn’t ruled out the possibility of running for public office again.

Mr. Franken and his wife Franni opened up during an interview with a local CBS affiliate about what life has been like since the Minnesota Democrat resigned in January amid several allegations of sexual misconduct.

“It has been a challenge, but we do get to spend more time together, and I think there are times that both us would like to spend less time together,” Franni joked.

Mr. Franken on Monday attended the dedication of Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig High School on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation after he helped secure $12 million in funding while he served on the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs.

“That means a lot to me. It was very moving for me. It was very gratifying. I put my heart in the job,” Mr. Franken told CBS. “I miss the whole job. I loved that job, I loved the job as Senator.”

Asked whether he’s considering running for office again, Mr. Franken responded, “Well, see, if I say anything there, you’ll put it in the story. I don’t know. I don’t know.”

“I haven’t ruled it out, and I haven’t ruled it in,” he added.

Mr. Franken, a former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, resigned from the Senate during his second term on Jan. 2 after at least five women came forward to accuse the senator of sexual harassment and unwanted touching. He issued several apologies for his behavior but gave a defiant resignation speech calling out the hypocrisy of the Republican Party and President Trump, who had faced sexual misconduct allegations of his own.
