The Senate Committee on Finance will consider the issue of paid family leave after the Fourth of July recess.
Axios reported late Monday night that the committee will consider Ivanka Trump’s policy on the issue. The president’s daughter has been a long time advocate for paid family leave.
Just left a productive meeting on the Hill to discuss issues affecting American working families, including childcare & paid family leave!

There is bipartisan support and participation in the hearing, with Sen. Joni Ernst, a Republican, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, a Democrat, both testifying.
There have been bipartisan talks before, with one of the biggest issues being how to pay for this policy.
Ms. Gillibrand co-sponsored the Family And Medical Insurance Leave Act, which was referred to the Finance Committee in 2017 but has not moved forward since.
The hearing will be held on July 11, after Congress returns from their Fourth of July break.
