COTUIT, Mass. (AP) - A crash on Cape Cod has left two people dead and a third facing injuries that are serious.

Police responded to the scene of a two-car crash at 12:15 a.m. Saturday in Cotuit to find a collision between a Toyota and SUV.

Authorities say the 32-year-old male driver SUV was extricated with the jaws of life and transported to South Shore Hospital, where he died.

The Toyota was split in two and its driver and passenger ejected from their burning vehicle. The driver, a 22-year-old man from Fall River, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 24-year-old female passenger was taken to Cape Cod Hospital, and later, a hospital in Boston with injuries that are life-threatening.
