GREENBELT, Md. — An apartment building in Greenbelt caught fire Friday afternoon, leading to a partial collapse of the structure. Police say there were no injuries.
Big fire near the Beltway in Greenbelt right now. Several Greenbelt PD cars speeding that way. More likely a building than a car judging by the amount of smoke. pic.twitter.com/NaI1gxrMcU

It’s an apartment fire in a complex behind the Beltway Plaza Mall. Edmonson Road north of 193 was getting closed off by police as I went by there. @WashTimesLocal pic.twitter.com/B3dJ7hdgjX

The fire started at 9004 Breezewood Terrace in the Franklin Park apartment complex, located behind the Beltway Plaza Mall and near Greenbelt Middle School. Police and firefighters responded to a call at 12:45 p.m.
Prince George’s Fire Department public information officer Mark Brady tweeted that it is a two-alarm fire and the building was evacuated but experienced a partial collapse.
By 1:45 p.m., most of the fire had been put out, Mr. Brady tweeted, but the residents of at least 11 apartments will be displaced. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
