LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man suspected of killing a nurse in New York has been charged with sexually assaulting and attempting to murder a woman in her Los Angeles apartment after a date.
Los Angeles County prosecutors said Friday that 27-year-old Danueal Drayton is accused of sexually assaulting a woman, trying to strangle her and refusing to let her leave her North Hollywood apartment on July 22 and 23.
Drayton was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles.
New York police say Drayton is wanted for investigation of the killing of nurse Samantha Stewart, who was found dead in her Queens apartment on July 17.
Police say Drayton met both victims on dating sites.
He could face more than 23 years to life in prison if convicted as charged in Los Angeles.
