RICHMOND — Redskins wide receiver Josh Doctson “is fine” after undergoing an MRI on his Achilles on Monday, coach Jay Gruden said.
Doctson missed most of his rookie season with an Achilles injury, though it wasn’t a problem last season. The 25-year-old had 35 catches for 502 yards and six touchdowns in 2017. He appeared in all 16 games.
Gruden said the MRI came back clean.
Given Doctson’s injury history, was Gruden alarmed about news of an MRI?
“No, nothing showed up so why would it be alarming?” he said. “We’re good.”
The Redskins expect Doctson, a 2016 first-round pick, to take another step forward in the fall.
Washington opens training camp Thursday.
