JACKSON, N.H. (AP) - A 142-year-old covered bridge in New Hampshire has been damaged by a vehicle for the second time in a month.
The state transportation department says the Honeymoon Covered Bridge over the Ellis River in Jackson is closed until further notice. A concrete truck struck the bridge on Tuesday and damaged the roof. The driver was issued a summons.
The department said it is making emergency repairs and is developing a plan and schedule for permanent repairs.
On June 30, a minivan crashed into a support and truss of the bridge.
The department says the bridge is 121 feet (36.8 meters) long and 26.5 feet (8 meters) wide.
