Poor James Comey. First, he’s vilified by the White House. Then he’s vilified by conservatives. Then he’s vilified by book reviewers. And now?

Now, even those on the left are scuttling from his side.

A former aide for President Barack Obama took to Twitter to tell Comey, in no uncertain terms, to shut the heck up.

“Hey Jim,” tweeted Tommy Vietor, a former Obama spokesman who now works as the co-host of the “Pod Save America” podcast, The Hill reported, “we got this covered. No one is asking for your advice. As we saw during the campaign, your judgment isn’t great! All the best, everyone.”

Ouch.

Veitor’s remarks came in response to Comey’s call for Democrats to not “lose” their minds and “rush to the socialist left.”

Specifically, Comey put this out on Twitter: “Democrats, please, please don’t lose your minds and rush to the socialist left. This president and his Republican Party are counting on you to do exactly that. America’s great middle wants sensible, balanced, ethical leadership.”

That came just a few days after Comey — who was once Republican but turned away after Trump became the party’s nominee — called for all Americans, including Republicans, to vote Democrat this fall.

What, Comey didn’t know last week that Democrats had already turned the socialist corner? That ship has sailed. And it hasn’t exactly been a secret voyage, either.

It’s strange that he would advocate first, criticize second. It’s almost as if the guy didn’t have a political compass or set of core principles. It’s almost like he’s just talking talk for the sake of talking, in some sort of desperate attempt to remain relevant on the national scale.

Thing is, if Comey were truly concerned about the state of America’s culture and politics, he wouldn’t call for voters to back a party he knew to be socialist in the first place.
