HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Montana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dipped one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.8 percent in June, the lowest rate in nearly 11 years.
The state’s unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in July 2007, before the mortgage and banking crisis.
The Department of Labor says there was an increase of 400 payroll jobs in June despite the loss of nearly 800 jobs in federal government employment.
The U.S. unemployment rate rose 0.2 percentage points to 4 percent in June.
