Former Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to hit the campaign trail Friday with Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat running in a U.S. Senate race in Arizona that is viewed as one of Democrats best chances to flip a GOP seat.

Mr. Biden is set to headline fundraiser in Phoenix, according to news reports.

Political handicappers say the race to replace retiring Republican Sen. Jeff Flake is considered a coin-flip.

Ms. Sinema is running in the August 28 primary for the Democratic nomination against Deedra Abboud, who has the support of Justice Democrats, the liberal progressive group that helped Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez upset Rep. Joe Crowley in New York’s 14th Congressional District.

On the GOP side, Rep. Martha McSally is running against Kelli Ward and former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
