The ongoing discussions about President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the latter’s attempted influence in the 2016 U.S. presidential elections is nothing new. It reminds me of Capt. Renault in “Casablanca”: “I’m shocked — shocked! — to find that gambling is going on in here.” Only Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul was honest enough to tell the truth.

Our CIA, the Russian KGB and many nations going back 100 years have attempted to interfere behind the scenes in the elections of other countries. Some have gone even further and supported military coups against democratically elected governments. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Hillary Clinton spent more than $1 billion, twice as much as Mr. Trump, yet she lost to the millions of those she called “deplorables” — not to any Russian interference.
