MLB All-Star Game: Lineups, how to watch and what to know

Washington’s summer in the sun as the “sports capital” of the country continues Tuesday with the Midsummer Classic.

With MLB on its All-Star Break and the NFL, NBA and NHL out of season, Washington literally has “the only game in town” when it hosts the 89th MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night at Nationals Park.

Here’s everything you need to know and read before the game gets underway.

Starting pitchers:

Max Scherzer (NL) and Chris Sale (AL) will start the All-Star Game against one another for the second year in a row. It’s Sale’s third straight start.

Washington Nationals playing:

Technically, it’s only Harper and Scherzer. Relief pitcher Sean Doolittle was also named an All-Star and is spending the break in Washington, but will not play Tuesday due to a foot injury that’s placed him on the disabled list.
