HYANNIS, Mass. (AP) - A marine transportation authority in Massachusetts enduring mechanical problems has been cleared by the U.S. Coast Guard to continue service.

The Cape Cod Times reports the Steamship Authority’s ferry Woods Hole has been cleared by the Coast Guard to return to service from Hyannis after its trips were cancelled Tuesday due to a mechanical problem.

A pitch alarm for a propeller sounded Monday during the boat’s last trip. Trips were cancelled the following day to identify the problem. Divers found no abnormalities in the shafts and propellers.
