President Trump praised his Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh on Tuesday, before departing for the NATO summit.

“Last night was an incredible evening. Brett Kavanaugh got great reviews, actually from both sides. It’s a beautiful thing to watch,” he told reporters outside the White House.

Opponents against the president’s pick were prepared for Mr. Kavanaugh’s nomination Monday night. Protestors and lawmakers rallied after the announcement with premade “stop Kavanaugh” signs.

The group chanted, “Hey, hey, ho, ho Kavanaugh has got to go.”

One of the most prominent critiques of the nomination is over the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade.

When asked if he discussed the issue of abortion with his pick, Mr. Trump denied it.

“No, I haven’t. I really haven’t,” he said.
